What an extraordinary time to be a lover of the arts in the Queen City! This season will bring breathtaking collaborations, rich holiday traditions, and a world premiere performance.

We open with one of J. S. Bach’s pinnacle works, the monumental and moving Mass in B minor. For these concerts, VAE will partner with the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, another gem in
Cincinnati’s arts crown.

In December, we welcome guest conductor Anton Armstrong, St. Olaf Choir music director, for our annual Candlelit Christmas concerts. These concerts have become a cherished tradition, offering a warm break from the cold winter.

Assistant Conductor Stephanie Nash returns in February to lead a program featuring Brahms’s Neue Liebeslieder and other motets. The VAE is excited to perform this concert in OTR at First Lutheran Church, just steps from Washington Park.

We will close the season with the world premiere of Canticle, a new concert-length work by noted composer Kile Smith. This work will showcase the unique abilities and vocal colors of the VAE in a way not heard before.

It continues to be my great joy and privilege to lead the extraordinary singers of the Vocal Arts Ensemble and I truly love being a part of this great musical community. You are an essential part of why these VAE performances are such magical events. Thank you for your presence. We look forward to singing for you throughout this dynamic season.
